Abstract

The present article discusses the interaction between the property of economic and financial assets and the exercise of political rights, namely the right to vote and to run for elections. Through the historical analysis of the dialectic relationship between ownership and political power, it presents the challenge of placing the dignity of the human person at the centre of social and legal relationships in opposition to the liberal ideal of property as a necessary value for the person’s fulfilment.
