Abstract

The novel Torto Arado, by Itamar Vieira Junior, set in Chapada Diamantina, northwest region of Bahia, tells the story of Belonísia and Bibiana, sisters of very close ages who, due to an accident with a knife belonging to Donana, the girls' grandmother, even more united. The struggle for land, racial relations and maroon identity are addressed by the author. It is possible to identify in the work the reference to ADCT n.º 68; Based on this mention, this article aims to explain the points of contact between the work of Itamar Vieira Júnior and Constitutional Law from subaltern subjects marked by the “zona do Não-Ser” (CARNEIRO, 2005), favoring the understanding of identities and flow of power for the construction of constitutional identities.
