Abstract

This article aims to analyze distinctive features of the concepts of existence, validity and efficacy in Pontes de Miranda's work, thus demonstrating what is the exact relation between them and the species of legal facts, specially to sustain the inexistence of what was afterwards called "Pontean Ladder".
