Contributions of the intelligence network of the 1st Region’s Federal Court for Criminal justice

Abstract

This article problematizes the institutional autonomy of the Judiciary and intends to examine the way in which the Intelligence Network (REINT1), expanding its perimeter of activity, has made significant contributions to the criminal jurisdiction of the Federal Regional Court of the 1st Region. To achieve this purpose, the article proposes to go through two specific objectives, the first of them addressed to describe the contribution provided by REINT1 to the nationalized treatment of the theses established by the higher courts, concerning collective habeas corpus, during the Covid-19 pandemic. The second objective relates to the review of the virtual meetings promoted by REINT1 during the year 2022, its conclusions on the modern judicial control of investigations and its contribution to the improvement of the Federal Justice of the 1st Region.The continental proportions of the 1st Region and the creative expansion of the hypotheses of action of the strategic organs demarcate the relevance and actuality of the theme, while REINT1’s initiatives in criminal matters demonstrate the importance of the autonomy of the Judiciary for the implementation of effective and creative policies in times of institutional adversity.
