Abstract

The current article investigates which is the legal asset protected by the crimes of prostitution facility, defined by article 229 of the brazilian Criminal Code. To do such, the work goes back to the idea of legal asset, its concept, function and the crisis that itis currently going through, its relation to the harm principle of anglo-saxonian tradition, specially with the idea of self harm, also analyzing the paternalism that influences the brazilian legislation in this matter.
